I accidentally blew all my pay on a new computer. Going to put it together tonight. I'm on my way back! For those of you who may not know, my PSU blew up and took my mobo with it over a month ago. I've been on a netbook for that long (which I love) but they don't game very well.
Either you bought one kick ass system, or you don't make shit for pay. I am seriously hoping that is NOT the latter.
it came to $309 for the parts, and I had to pay my bills too ($150). plus I saved $100 for my sister's birthday... I was out in butt-fuck idaho for a week so I didn't get any pay for that week (in a bi-weekly pay period)
first post from the new build! Woo! Installing steam and TF2 and all my games now... its going to be quite a long while to DL all this shit again... wow...
holy shit. steam is smart! I had installed everything non-OS related to a second drive and when I installed steam it automatically picked up my old game installations! sweeeeet!
for any geeks among us who may be interested in the specs: AM3 motherboard (too lazy to look up the model) with an AMD athon II x4 960 cpu, 4gb of DDR3 ram and a new SATA optical drive to go with it.
On my last build I took out the HD from my old machine and hooked it up via eSATA and dumped my entire steam folder over to the new drive. I had some issues with some games like L4D2 and such where I had to tell it to check integrity, but other than that it went pretty smooth.
